Privacy Policy
Daily stores the things you put in it — your tasks, non-negotiables, notes, and any photos you choose to take — so it can show them back to you. we don't sell your data, run ad trackers, or read your content for anything but making the app work. we do count how the app gets used, and none of what you write goes into that. signing in with Google only shares the basics. you can delete any of it, or all of it, whenever you want.
1Who this covers
Daily is a small, free daily planner at getdaily.day, built and run by Heidar Babazade. This policy explains what the app collects and why. The source code is published on GitHub, so you can check these claims against what actually runs.
2What we collect
- Your account. When you sign up — email and password, or "Continue with Google" — our sign-in provider stores your email and name. If you use Google, we receive your basic Google profile and photo. We never see your Google password.
- What you put in Daily. Your tasks, your non-negotiables and their check history, and your notes — stored so the app can show them back to you.
- Photos ("proofs"). If you attach a photo to a check, it's kept in a private store. It stays yours, and it's shared with your crew only when you pick "the room" instead of "just me."
- Crews. If you join a crew, we store your membership and your reactions. Crewmates see each other's names, avatars, check counts, and any photo shared to the room — never your task text or notes.
- Reminders. If you turn reminders on, your browser gives us a push subscription (an address to send notifications to). We also store your timezone, so a nudge lands at the right hour, and your browser's user-agent, so it sends correctly.
- Device signals. On load, Daily notes whether it's running from your home screen, your notification-permission state, and when you last opened it — this is how it knows who to nudge and helps us see how many people install it.
- Usage analytics. We use PostHog (EU servers) to count pages, clicks, and which features get used — so we can tell what's worth building. It is storage-free: no cookies, no identifier written to your device, nothing linking one page to the next. Each page you open is counted on its own, with no thread joining them together. That is why there is no cookie banner on this site — there is nothing to ask permission for. We do not record sessions. Your task text, notes, ritual names, and photos are never sent to PostHog — only counts, lengths, and which buttons were pressed. When you're signed in, actions are counted against your account id so we can see whether Daily is actually used; never against what you wrote in it.
3What we don't do
No selling or renting your data. No ad networks, no advertising or cross-site trackers, no data brokers. No location beyond your timezone. The one third party that sees usage data is our own analytics (PostHog, above), and it never receives what you write. We don't mine your notes or photos for anything but running the features you use.
4Who processes your data
To run Daily we rely on a few services: Clerk (sign-in), Supabase (database and photo storage, hosted in the EU), Vercel (serving the site), PostHog (usage analytics, EU region), and Google (only if you choose Google sign-in). When you enable reminders, notifications are delivered through your browser's push service (Apple, Google, or Mozilla). As the developer, Heidar can access data when needed to run and support the service — it is never handed to advertisers.
5Where it lives & how it's protected
Your data sits in Supabase in the EU. Row-level security means your rows are only reachable by you; photos live in a private bucket that only you — and your crew, for room photos — can open.
6How long we keep it
While your account is active. Delete items in the app any time and they're gone.
7Your choices & rights
You can edit or delete anything in the app. To erase your whole account and everything tied to it, email hello@getdaily.day and we'll do it. If you're in the EU or UK, you have rights under the GDPR — access, correction, deletion, export, and objection — and the same address reaches us.
8Why there's no cookie banner
Because we don't set any cookies. The law that produces those banners is about storing things on your device; we store nothing, so there's nothing to ask about and nothing for you to click away. If your browser sends "Do Not Track" we go further and don't count you at all. Daily does keep a couple of things in your browser's own storage to work — your theme choice and your session — but those are the app running, not tracking, and they never leave your device for us.
9Reminders are opt-in
Notifications only happen if you turn them on, and you can turn them off any time in your device settings or by removing Daily from your home screen. On iPhone they require adding Daily to your home screen first.
10Children
Daily isn't intended for children under 16. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we'll remove it.
11Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top.
